Just in Case We Have Winter
1. If your car needs regular service, get it done now.
2. Make sure your battery and charging system are up to par.
3. Check the cooling system. Make sure the antifreeze will protect your car at the winter temperatures in your location.
4. If you have leaks in the cooling system, take care of them now.
5. Make sure your windshield wipers are in good shape.
6. Keep your gas tank close to full...
7. Make sure your windshield washer reservoir is full.
8. Make sure all your windows are free and clear of snow and ice.
9. Know your car. Every car has different handling characteristics. You should know if you have front, rear, part-time or full-time four wheel drive; anti-lock brakes; traction control; and stability control.
10. Make sure you have some basic supplies in your car in case you do get stuck. Such as; shovel, a bag of sand, extra windshield washer fluid. A blanket, extra old winter clothes, boots and last but not least water.
11. Clean off you car completely. That includes lights, and mirrors truly your entire car; if not the snow may slide off and block your visibility or fly off and block someone else's visibility.
12. When driving in snow , do everything more slowly.
