Skill practices help replace bravado with the true confidence young people need when facing dangerous situations on the road. Step Forward An Innovative Approach to Juvenile Intervention. A motivational and educational alternative for adolescents ages 11 to 18 charged with unruly or delinquency violations. This in depth, eight-session intervention course examines the root causes of their adverse behavior and teaches them how to deal with fear, frustration, low self-esteem and peer pressure. The program also covers the consequences of breaking the law, accepting responsibility for that choice and gives them direction to capitalize on their strengths and accentuate their positive side. Teen Driver Survivor Handbook Approximately 52,000 young people receive their Learner's Permit yearly in Tennessee. Statistics tell us that a disproportionate number of these youth will be involved in crashes, many of which are deadly, within the first two years of receiving their license. Under Tennessee's Graduated License Law, a parent or guardian must monitor and supervise the young person for at least fifty hours of driving after they receive their Learner's Permit. This handbook provides the person responsible for training, lesson plans with helpful check sheets of tasks that must be completed to master skills necessary to become a good defensive driver.
